Marc Lucas is Local Ministry Director and radio host at FaithTalk 1360 in Phoenix.
He joins us to discuss the paradox that God forgives what God also forbids.
Condemnation may haunt our hearts after abortion. Lucas shares that we must learn to discern when God convicts us, leading to repentance, as distinct from the shame which can even harden into a wrong identity. We may also need to shift focus from the pain of loss to the richness of God’s mercy and the promise of His future grace.
The fullness of the doctrine of forgiveness means Jesus Christ’s sacrificial death acquits all sin. Acquittal means you are forgiven, and the charge against you is dismissed, because Jesus paid the price. “God made Him who knew no sin to be sin so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.” 2 Corinthians 5:21
True faith is trusting God; faith is a completely effective remedy to the burden of guilt after sin.
