John Ensor Pt2 Pregnancy Crisis Intervention

John Ensor is President of the international pro-life outreach at PassionLife.org, and author of Pregnancy Crisis Intervention, What To Do and Say When it Matters Most. He says, “Every pregnancy crisis is a crisis of faith.”

Problem pregnancy represents a crisis because, like other crises, a pregnancy may bring:

  • stress
  • panic
  • defeat
  • looking for immediate relief
  • losing the ability to solve problems

These reactions generally can only be sustained for six weeks. Knowing that women in a crisis pregnancy need to think about their faith, can help us decrease their fear and increase their hope–leading to a choice for life.

Like so many impacted personally by abortion, whether directly or indirectly, John’s journey was one of “repenting your way into the prolife movement.”

John Ensor, PassionLife

As pastor of a local church he’d been silent on abortion. When his church grew honest about abortions in their midst, he was greatly convicted of failing to teach effectively. He says pastors need to repent, because, “The Bible teaches that you are guilty if you shed innocent blood, but you’re also guilty if you shut your eyes to it.”

From Boston as neighbors helping neighbors, he moved to Miami to develop a pregnancy help centers, and then onto international service, training pastors and churches to establish PHC’s worldwide.

John reports that most women choose abortion to please a man. Abortion rights activists may try to spin it as a net good, but people don’t talk about abortion due to the shame attached to it.

He shares stories from the field to encourage and equip you to join the work right where you are. And free resources from his organization are available to download at passionlife.org.
