Catherine Davis of The Restoration Project joins us to expose the impact of abortion on the black community.
She begins by providing the historical context of Planned Parenthood’s Negro Project. Launched in 1939, this initiative hinged on black pastors. PP used them to promote birth control and then abortion. The goal: to counter poverty and racial inequality. The objective of eliminating black lives continues today, while poverty and inequality persist. A PP spokesperson said so openly in 2020.
Follow the money
Davis notes US Senator Rev. Raphael Warnock of Georgia received thousands of dollars from PP to declare himself a pro-choice pastor. He represents one of dozens of Democrat candidates receiving $45M from Planned Parenthood in the 2020 election cycle.
Concerning the black middle class and the myth that all blacks are poor and disadvantaged, Davis says “All of us are not broke and disgusted!”
Not healthcare, a public health crisis
Davis also sounds an alarm on abortion’s aftermath among black women. Abortion represents not healthcare, but multiple public health crises. These include:
- Breast cancer
- Premature birth rates
- Psychological crises of mental illness and suicide,
Officially pro-life denomination
The good news includes many churches working to stem the tide. In 2019 The Church of God in Christ passed a resolution as a pro-life denomination. They form pregnancy centers, help with medical expenses, and more.
