Cradle My Heart, Finding God’s Love After Abortion

Abortion continues to be a hot topic in politics, women’s rights, and medical practice. But for the ten million American Christian women who have had one, abortion is a spiritual issue as well, raising questions of life and death, heaven and hell, grief and loss.

This book offers ten true stories of healing promise from the Bible to help women answer the most common spiritual torments they face: Is abortion a sin? Does God hate me? Where can I turn in my shame and distress? How could I ever tell anyone the truth? And more.

Working on Cradle My Heart was a spiritual journey in itself–separate from the healing journey outlined in the the book. I really wanted to tell the stories of people who encountered Jesus and walked away healed. The Bible accounts don’t provide a lot of detail in many cases, but I can vividly picture these people and I wanted to paint them as portraits of hope. I’m also humbled to have known the women whose stories appear here representing the many challenges to spiritual growth after abortion. The telling comments they made speak volumes. They too represent illustrations of the healing mercy of Jesus Christ which is so real in our world today. He is the way, the truth and the life to help us out of the pain of abortion and into a new life now.

Featuring a Foreword by Ruth Graham, Cradle My Heart is an Amazon #1 bestseller and a 2013 Finalist for the Evangelical Christian Press Association Book of the Year in the New Author category. It also won First Place at the Blue Ridge Mountains Christian Writer’s Conference in 2011.

The NIV Hope in the Mourning Bible, Finding Strength through God’s Eternal Perspective

Grief is one of life’s toughest challenges. During such times it is difficult to know where to turn. Yet in the midst of your deepest despair, God reveals Himself and His promises for a better tomorrow.

The NIV Hope in the Mourning Bible works to bring a peaceful sense—in the midst of the coldest winter—that spring will one day come again. The collection of devotions and prayers warmly offer inspiration and hope based in God’s Word and his promises to those who have lost loved ones. This Bible emphasizes the love and hope that your Lord has for you even during your darkest days.

I was honored to join so many powerful voices as I contributed four devotions on reproductive grief and loss.
