Reversing the Fall was a success! The conference was designed to equip pregnancy center workers here in Russia, where the centers are chartered as charitable funds rather than non-profit organizations, i.e. no religious activity is allowed as the women reach out to those in need of help with pregnancy and motherhood. So we were asked to adapt our (Christian) teaching materials to a non-Christian audience. This is the challenge the pregnancy help movement faces on a daily basis–conveying and imparting God’s love without invoking God’s Word. As I wonder how well I could do fulfill their mission, I realize what a privelege it is to be able to openly share faith and have the religious freedom we enjoy. Everyone everywhere is hungry for God’s love. It’s a joy to see them refreshed here in Russia as we have offered that cool cup of water.
A visit to Motherhood support center where women can come for child care, baby clothes, and other help from Marina and her beautiful staff.
Such warm hospitality as always! I thank God for these women. Almost half of the clients they see are in need of government support. Others have means but don’t have enough for the extras like baby strollers and other gear. All of them get love.
